Why are we in Australia not capitalising on global opportunities to engage our innovative talents and revisit more processing and manufacturing after all we were good at it prior to the 70's.
Whenever I raise this issue the general response is “well we tried that but all our processing and manufacturing has now gone because we weren't competitive enough". So! ….. Look for other opportunities that haven't been fully exploited yet and where price isn't the foremost consideration. Take the lead. We seem to be far too quick to say " Oh , we tried that once and it didn't work " So! ... Try it again but learn from the past failures and keeeep trying till you get success. How hard is that to understand I ask myself?
If you don't build your own dream someone else will hire you to build theirs and that's what is happening to Australia at the moment because we don't seem to have the courage to invest in ourselves. I came to the realisation myself many years ago that if you don't have the courage to write your own rules …. Somebody else will write them for you and the result won’t be pleasant!
Let's push past the FEAR of failure and judgement by other Nations and let's see some of that traditional Aussie pioneering spirit. Let’s see some of our Angel Investors and Fund Managers start supporting our home grown emerging scalable enterprises of which we have an abundance ……
